Ingredients for Air Fryer Chicken Roll Ups
- Pillsbury Crescent Rolls: Pre-made crescent rolls provide a flaky and buttery base for the chicken roll ups.
- Chicken: Protein-rich chicken adds flavor and substance to the rolls.
- Cream Cheese: Creamy cheese provides a rich and tangy flavor to the filling.
- Butter: Butter adds a buttery flavor and helps to cook the filling.
- Green Onion: Green onions offer a mild onion flavor and a fresh crunch.
- Bell Pepper: Bell pepper adds a sweet and slightly spicy flavor to the filling.
- Onion Powder: Onion powder provides a concentrated onion flavor without adding bulk.
- Salt and Pepper: Salt and pepper season the filling to taste.
- Bacon Crumbles (optional): Bacon crumbles add a smoky and savory flavor to the rolls.
- Mozzarella Cheese (optional): Mozzarella cheese adds a melty and cheesy flavor to the rolls.
How to make Air Fryer Chicken Roll Ups
Start by grabbing a tube of crescent rolls. I like the original or the buttery crescent rolls at your local grocery stores. Roll crescent rolls out on a flat surface like a cutting board and carefully separate.
Chicken: This recipe needs about 1 cup of cooked chicken. Use Rotisserie Chicken, Canned Chicken, or cook up some fresh chicken. The best part is you decide. In a pinch I love using 1 can of canned chicken because it's just so simple and my picky eater loves it.
- In a separate bowl add chicken with softened cream cheese and softened butter and mix to combine.
- Add in diced green onions and diced bell peppers along with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Then stir to combine.
- Adding 1 tablespoon of milk can help soften the mixture slightly but don't over do it. A little bit goes a long ways.
Optional: Add ¼ cup bacon crumbles and/or ¼ cup Mozzarella cheese to the chicken mixture for added flavor. Mmmm it's delicious.

Spoon about ¼ cup of chicken mixture onto the crescent roll-ups and carefully roll up the chicken roll-ups. I like to pull the edges into the center and press against the point of the crescent roll to secure it before placing in the Air Fryer for baking.

Place chicken pockets into pre-heated air fryer basket. Making sure to leave space between each pocket for air flow. Air Fry at 330F Degrees for 8-10 minutes. Or until rolls are golden brown.

Carefully remove hot Chicken Rolls from Air Fryer and enjoy this easy dinner recipe!

Substitutions and Additions
When making Chicken Roll ups in the Air Fryer there are a wide variety of variations or substitutions.
I've all ready mentioned using canned chicken, rotisserie chicken or cook fresh chicken breasts. The best meals are often the most simple.
Add bacon crumbles to the chicken mixture. This will add a delicious smoky flavor.
Cheese: We love to add mozzarella cheese to the chicken mixture but you can also add parmesan cheese to make a parmesan chicken roll up. It's tasty too!
Whisk an egg with a tablespoon of water and brush on top of the chicken pillows before Air Frying. This will add a crispy flaky top to your crescent dinner rolls.
Top with seasoned bread crumbs. Trust me, it's good!
