Are you a Funfetti Fan like we are?  Making Funfetti Cookies that are soft and chewy is a must and this recipe is proven to be perfect every time.  Sugar Cookies dotted with sprinkles will make you smile and have you coming back for more.  I guarantee they will be the first cookie you reach for.

    Funfetti Cookie Recipe

Soft Baked Funfetti Cookie Recipe was something I stumbled upon really.  I’ve always made a traditional Funfetti Cookies from a Cake Mix, you know with oil and eggs, and in a pinch I found myself without a cake mix and needed to try something new.

My Soft Sugar Cookie recipe was perfect and up for the challenge.  Just a few small tweaks and this soft and chewy Funfetti Cookie Recipe was born!

Personally I like it so much better than a Cake Mix Cookie.  The flavor is spot on and the texture a soft and chewy cookie is exactly what I look for in a cookie.

    Funfetti Cookies without Cake Mix

My only mistake was not making enough cookies!  This recipe is practically perfect and I love how the colored sprinkles are dotted throughout every bite.  Don’t be mistaken, these cookies are not just for those little hands.  My grown sons ask for these cookies regularly now.

In fact, they love these cookies so much that I also create a Circle Animal Cookie with the same Funfetti Sprinkles.

    Ingredients for Cookies

    • ½ Cup Butter
    • 1 Egg
    • ½ Cup Sugar
    • ½ Cup Powdered Sugar
    • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
    • ½ tsp Cream of Tartar
    • ¼ Cup Vegetable Oil
    • ½ tsp Baking Soda
    • 2 Cup Flour
    • ½ Cup Colored Sprinkles
Bosch Mixer with Butter and Sugar

How to make Funfetti Cookie Recipe without Cake Mix

Start by mixing butter with white sugar until light and creamy either in a stand mixer or by using a hand mixer in a large bowl.  Add Powdered Sugar, Cream of Tartar and Baking Soda and mix well.  Mix Egg, Oil and vanilla to butter mixture until all combined and smooth.  Next add flour 1 cup at a time.  Finish by mixing Funfetti Sprinkles to batter.

We love this recipe because it’s a small batch and makes about 24 cookies which is just a perfect sized batch to enjoy.  Feel free to double this recipe and make more.  They freeze perfectly too.

Scoop cookie dough using a medium cookie scoop, size #24 and place dough 2 inches apart.  Fitting 12-15 cookies on a large cookie sheet.

    Funfetti Cookies on cooling rack

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and Bake for 7-9 minutes.  Edges of cookies will turn a light golden color.  Remove from oven and allow to cool for 2-4 minutes before removing from cookie sheet to wire rack to cool.

    Can you Freeze Cookies?

Absolutely!  I typically freeze in small sandwich bags with 3-4 cookies in each back.  Perfect serving size for school lunches or just because!

    Can I double Cookie Recipe?

Yes!  This recipe is a small batch which is a perfect size but always works perfectly to double recipe.

Can I make Funfetti Cookies using a Cake Mix?

Cake Mix Cookies are very simple to make.  Follow this recipe for Golden Oreos and add ½ cup Colored Sprinkles.  You can also substitute Funfetti Cake Mix too.

I personally love to use my stand mixer and for me that means a Bosch Universal. Easy to use, easy to clean and I get the same perfect results every time. Make sure to take a look why I love my Bosch Universal Mixer.
