Magic Cookie Bars are a delicious treat that is going to satisfy all of those cravings. Loaded with all your favorites from chocolate to nuts and covered in a blanket of sweetened condensed milk, you've got a winning combination that feels right.

I've always felt that this recipe must be difficult or hard because it looks so perfect and delicious. NOT TRUE! This is one of the easiest recipes there is. The hard part is waiting for them to cool before you cut the bars.

So why are they called Magic Bars? Well, let me tell you. After making a simple crust and baking it, everything else is literally sprinkled on top in layers and then baked. Like Magic they turn out to be this party in your mouth that you will love.

    Magic Cookie Bars

It’ll feel like one of your favorite candy bars married a cream pie and created something amazing. And don't hesitate to customize this recipe and add extra of your favorite ingredients too. It's really just that simple.

Everyone will come back to these tasty cookie bars and want seconds, or thirds- so one batch is never enough.

Serve them up at your next party or share them at a holiday cookie exchange and watch everyone go crazy for this textural delight.

Bringing desserts to a party is always fun, but finding something you can make ahead of time, serve cold, and that doesn’t get too messy dishing out or needing silverware just makes things a bit of a challenge.

Finding the perfect recipe to share is crazy hard sometimes! Thankfully these magic cookie bars check off all of those crazy points to consider for sharing desserts.

    Magic Cookie Bars

Cookie bars are a delicious and flavorful dessert that everyone will love, but if you want a less messy cookie to share try my chocolate peanut butter chip cookies.

They’re chewy, sweet, and require no cutting.

    2. Melt the Butter and then Mix them into the Crushed Graham Crackers
    3. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 greased pan
    4. Pour the Sweetened Condensed Milk over the Crust
    5. Top with Chocolate Chips, Coconut, and Pecans
    6. Bake at 350 F for 25 Minutes
    7. Let cool completely before cutting
    8. Store in Sealed Container
    Graham Cracker Crust

With this Bar Cookie Recipe, I don't use a large stand mixer and it doesn't take hours to make either. That's the beauty in this recipe.

It's an easy recipe to follow, and perfect to curb the sweet tooth or take with you.

How to Store Magic Cookie Bars

Keep your bar cookies stored inside of an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Any longer and they may dry out too much to enjoy.

Can I substitute Pecans for Walnuts?

Yes of course! You may even find that you enjoy it one way or another! Try them both ways to see for yourself.

    Magic Cookie Bars

Do Magic Cookie Bars need refrigerated?

These cookies do not need to be kept stored inside of the fridge, but you can keep them in the freezer for longer storage- they last up to 3 months in there if kept properly contained.

Can I freeze Magic Cookie Bar Recipe?

Of course you can. Freeze in a sealed container for up to 3 months. To Thaw place on the counter until Magic Bars reach room temperature

Can you make cookies in a glass pan?

You can make these cookie bars inside of a 9x13 glass baking dish, just make sure that its greased well.

How do you cut desserts cleanly?

The trick for cutting these bars cleanly is to either freeze the uncut cookie for a few minutes to solidify or to continually clean the knife after every cut. You can also do a combination of the two.

    Magic Bars

    Did you know?

I've heard Magic Bars also called Hello Dolly Bars or Seven Layer Bars but to me, they are pure magic and hence the name.

I have a question. They turn out beautiful. But they get hard after they they have cooled.

These cookies will firm up after they have cooled so you can pick them up after they have been sliced. Make sure to store them in a sealed container so they don't dry out.

These bars are magic and so very easy. It's hard to wait until they cool to cut them, I always want to dive right in.
