Spinach Salad is a great way to get your leafy greens into your diet! These powerful little leaves are packed full of excellent nutrients that your body needs, but they aren’t always the most fun to eat.

    Spinach Salad

Spinach is a very flavorful vegetable on its own, so it’s often used best in smoothies and salads to help tone down the overpowering flavors.

This spinach salad recipe helps to turn it into just another ingredient and allows it to take a backseat to all of the other wonderful flavors it pairs so well with.

Salad isn’t always a light side dish, and Spinach Salad with Bacon is a very filling meal on its own. Enjoying this filling salad for lunch or as a hot summer night’s dinner is a great idea!

    Spinach Salad

This spinach salad goes great at any time of the year, but If you love green salads like I do, you’re going to want to make them all year long. Try my fall inspired apple cranberry pecan salad for a little change.

    Spinach Salad Ingredients

    What’s In Spinach Salad?

    • ½ head of iceberg lettuce
    • 1 head of Romaine Lettuce
    • 1 bunch of spinach
    • ¾ pound Swiss cheese, grated
    • ½ red onion, sliced thin
    • ¾ pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
    • 1 Cup Crumbled Bacon
    • 1 large can mandarin oranges, drained
    • ½ Cup Sliced Almonds
    Spinach Salad

    How to Make Spinach Salad

I prefer this salad prepared in layers.

    • Wash and chop the lettuce and then add the Spinach and Place them in a bowl
    • Add the thinly sliced Red Onion on top
    • Scatter sliced fresh mushrooms over the lettuce and onions
    • Add Crumbled bacon and cheese on top
    • Top with Mandarin Oranges and Sliced Almonds
    • Serve with Poppy Seed Dressing

What dressing is Best with Spinach Salad?

You can choose any salad dressing that you want but I truly feel like the flavors of this spinach salad pair really well with my Poppy Seed Dressing! It really makes the dish feel complete!

    Spinach Salad

Can I use Candied Almonds in this recipe?

Absolutely! Using candied almonds might even be your preferred way to enjoy this salad because it helps to give a toasted nutty sweetness to the salad that tastes great too.

    How to make Candied Almonds:

    • Heat a frying pan over medium/high heat. Add in ½ Cup of Sliced almonds with 3Tbs Sugar
    • Stir constantly until the sugar melts and almonds are coated and turn to a golden color.
    • Remove them from the heat and allow the almonds to cool completely.
    Spinach Salad

Can I make Spinach Salad ahead?

Yes, you can make this salad in advance, but you may want to wait until you’re ready to serve before placing any almonds on the salad. This will keep them from becoming stale or chewy.

    Spinach Salad

Always choose a side dish to compliment a meal!

    • Candied Carrots
    • Bacon Herbed Green Beans
    • Roasted Potatoes and Carrots
    • Mushroom Garlic Noodles
    • Pasta with Zucchini and Tomatoes
    • Ranch Roasted Potatoes
