How to Store Chex Mix?
I'm not sure any of these Chex Mix Snacks will last long enough to think about storing them...haha...but in the slim chance you have extra and are hiding it from your family, then place the Chex Mix into a Gallon size Zip Lock Bag or in an airtight container. Either will work fine!

Better than Sex Chex Mix
Ingredients
- 8 Cups Chex Mix Chocolate Cereal - *Can substitute any Chex mix cereal
- 6 Tbs Butter
- ¾ Cup Brown Sugar
- ¼ Cup Corn Syrup
- ¼ teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 Cup Marshmallows
- 1 Cup Peanut Butter Cups
- ½ Cup Caramel Bits - *You can use the caramel squares and unwrap.
- ½ Cup White chocolate Chips
- ½ Cup Chocolate Chips - *Semi Sweet is perfect for this recipe
- 1 Tbs Whipping Cream
Instructions
- Measure out 8 cups of Chex Mix Cereal Chocolate into a microwave safe bowl. Set aside.
- In a smaller microwave safe bowl, place butter, brown sugar and corn syrup and microwave for 2 minutes. Stirring after 1 minute.
- Stir in baking soda until dissolved.
- Pour mixture over cereal to coat evenly.
- Microwave for 2-3 minutes, stirring every minute. This helps to fully coat the cereal.
- Spread on a lined cookie sheet to cool. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle marshmallows and peanut butter cups over cereal.
- In a small microwave safe bowl, melt caramel bits with whipping cream in Microwave for 1-2 minutes, stirring every minute. Stir until smooth. Drizzle over cereal mixture.
- In a separate bowl microwave chocolate chips for 1-2 minutes (stirring every 30 seconds to minute) and stir until smooth . Drizzle over cereal mixture
- Repeat with white chocolate chips.
- Allow for mixture to cool and set. Break into pieces and enjoy. Can be stored in a large zip-lock bag or container.

Delicious but you will want to add a tiny bit of oil or shortening after you melt the chocolate chips because it was to thick to drizzle. I also doubled the ingredients that are drizzled, it felt like it covered the entire surface that way.

Hi Erin, Adding shortening or a little oil can be necessary depending on the quality of chips. You are my kind of person. I always love to double toppings on recipes. YUM!

If I were to make this to fill goody bags for coworkers and I didn't give the bags out until the next day, would the chex get soggy or stale?

These is a great snack mix to give away. I have never had a problem with the Chex Mix becoming soggy or stale as long as its kept in an air tight container.

Hi Diane, Better than Sex Chex Mix does not have nuts in the recipe. If you are referring to the Holiday Chex Mix, you could omit the nuts if you wish and make it as listed. They are both wonderful recipes that are addicting!

Try cookie butter or another bite sized candy bar/candy rather than the peanut butter cups....or maybe coconut.
