Are you ready for a lip licking recipe for Easy Philly Cheesesteak? I know I am. Philly Cheesesteaks are loaded with tender pieces of beef, onion, bell peppers and seasoned to perfection. When a viewer sends a request, I try to please. In this case a viewer was excited about my Cream Cheese Chicken Recipe but wanted to make something else without dairy. And this brilliant idea popped into my head!

This recipe is also inspired by my Philly Cheesesteak Slider recipe. It was a hit in my home! I knew I needed to add it to my site for everyone else too. My boys inhaled these Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches made easy and I personally love how simple they are to make in the Instant Pot or Electric Pressure Cooker.

Fun Fact:
It’s believed that the first cheesesteak was created about 1930 by a hot dog vendor named Pat Olivieri in South Philly. Pat was wanting something other than hot dogs to eat for lunch and decided to grill some beef on the grill with bell peppers and onions on a roll.
I for one am grateful to Pat Olivieri because I LOVE a good cheesesteak! Making Easy Philly Cheesesteaks in the Instant Pot is a favorite in my home and the ingredients are simple too. But the simple trick of using crescent rolls is a family favorite for sure.

What ingredients are in Homemade Philly Cheesesteaks?
- 1 lb Flank Steak
- 1 Green Bell Pepper
- Small Sliced Onion
- 1 Cup Sliced Mushrooms
- 1 pk Zesty Italian Dry Seasoning
- ¾ Cup Beef Broth
- 1 Tb Worstshire Sauce
- 1 Tb Olive Oil
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 Roll Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
- 1 Egg
- 8 Slices Provolone Cheese

How to make Homemade Philly Cheesesteaks?
- Slice steak thinly across grain with a sharp knife. I like to use Victorinox Knives. They are affordable and last. Plus I’ve used them for years and years. Then cut each slice into 1in bite sized pieces.
- Slice Bell Pepper and onions in thin slices and quarter
- Heat Pressure Cooker on Saute until it reads “Hot” and add Olive Oil
- Add cut up steak and season with salt and pepper
- Allow to cook for about 45-60 seconds and then stir and cook for an additional minute.
- Turn off Instant Pot
- Deglazing the Instant Pot is easy. To do this add broth and with a flat wooden spoon scrape the bits stuck to the bottom of the pot liner. This will prevent the “Burn Notice” when cooking.
- Add chopped Onion and Bell Peppers, Worsteshire Suace and Zesty Italian Dry Seasoning Packet and stir
- Place Lid on top and seal pressure value
- Set Instant Pot or Electric Pressure Cooker to Manual Pressure Cook for 1 Minute with a Quick Release.
- Open Lid and Stir
- Remove Steak and Vegetables
- On a cookie Sheet unroll Crescent Rolls making 4 squares
- Using your fingers pinch the seams closed
- Place about ½ cup of mixture on Crescent Roll and top with 1 slice provolone cheese
- Pull opposite corners together meeting in the top center and repeat with remaining corners creating a pouch
- Whisk egg and brush on croissant
- Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown
