    Apple Pecan French Toast Casserole

I'm a huge fan of Breakfast Casserole Recipes and I love my Instant Pot / Pressure Cooker, so together making an Instant Pot Breakfast is spot on especially when I use ingredients like Apple, Pecans and a Cinnamon Crumble with French Toast.

I recently had company and decided to make Apple Pecan French Toast just to see their reactions. I LOVED the response as they said their tastebuds were drooling for more.

It's always fun to WOW your family and friends!

Is Instant Pot French Toast Soggy?

I don't find Instant Pot French Toast to be soggy at all. It is moist when cooked in a Pressure Cooker / Instant Pot.

When mixing the bread with the Milk and egg mixture if you think it's too soggy, here is a tip. Add 1 cup more bread cubes.

It will help balance out the recipe texture.

    Instant Pot Breakfast

Can I freeze Instant Pot French Toast?

Yes! Of course you can freeze this Breakfast Casserole. Allow the Instant Pot Breakfast to cool and then wrap tightly and freeze.

To thaw, place on counter until thaw. French Toast can be re-heated in the microwave

What is a 2 Tier Pot for the Instant Pot?

The 2 Tier Pot is an accessory for the Instant Pot and used with doing the PIP (Pot in Pot) method of cooking.

But if you don’t have this accessory you can also use a spring form pan, just make sure to wrap the bottom with foil so nothing leaks out or in! A springform pan works great too.

What is Pot in Pot Method of Cooking?

Pot in Pot method of cooking is used with an Instant Pot / Pressure Cooker. Typically a pan is placed on a trivet with water below.

In the pan are the ingredients for the recipe that you don't want additional liquid added to.

    What is Baked French Toast?

Baked French Toast is a casserole recipe with cubed pieces of bread and an egg milk mixture and cinnamon and sugar on top.

It's also wonderful for breakfast and is baked in the oven.

      This looks so good.
Do you cover this with tin foil before you cook it?

        Hi Laurie,
You do not need to cover with foil. However if you use a springform pan I do recommend using foil on the bottom so no liquid leaks in or out.

I have a 3 qt. Lux mini. What cook time would you think for a smaller one? I was thinking of keeping the recipe the same just making more than one and freeze the second one.
Thank you, this looks very good.

Hi Renna! I have not tested this recipe in a 3qt. However typically cook times remain the same. So I would keep the time the same. There would not be a worry of over cooking this recipe so you should be just fine! And it's a great idea to freeze one for later! Oh it's good!
