    Instant Pot French Toast Casserole

As a kid my favorite was a Betty Crocker Coffee Cake, except when I made it, I would double to crumble topping, because let's be honest. It's darn delicious and I always wanted more!

So that is where this Instant Breakfast began. I of course love to make a traditional French Toast in the Instant Pot but I've upped my game with this Fall Favorite Recipe.

Instant Pot Breakfast French Toast Ingredients

Ingredients in French Toast Breakfast Casserole

    • French Bread Cubed
    • 3 Eggs
    • ⅓ Cup Milk
    • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
    • ⅓ Cup Brown Sugar
    • 1 ½ Tbs Cinnamon
    • 3 Tbs Flour
    • 3 Tbs Butter
    • ½ Cup Chopped Pecans

    • Slice French Bread into approximately 24 slices. Cube approximately 14 slices and set aside.
    • In a separate bowl combine brown sugar, cinnamon, flour and melted butter and stir to combine. This will make a crumble.
    • Use a large bowl to mix Eggs, Milk, and Vanilla set aside
    • Combine Cubed French Bread into egg mixture and toss.
    • Place Bread mixture into a greased pan or springform pan for your Pressure Cooker
    • Sprinkle Crumble on top of bread mixture evenly
    • Top with chopped pecans
    • Place 1 cup water in Pressure Cooker
    • Breakfast Casserole should be placed on a trivet and cooked on Manual Pressure Cook for 25 minutes with a Natural Release.
    • Serve with warmed syrup and enjoy this Fall Favorite Recipe!

You can see how easy this recipe is to make.

I've had my boys help in the kitchen for years and this is a great recipe to let the little hands learn.

They really can't mess up this Breakfast Recipe and they will feel such a sense of pride making breakfast for the family.

What kind of pan can I use to make French Toast Breakfast Casserole?

I use a 2 tier pan from Amazon and I LOVE it. However you can also use a springform pan.

Make sure to use a trivet so you remove the pan easily when done. A foil sling also works to remove the pan if your trivet doesn't have handles.

Can I make French Toast Breakfast Casserole in the Oven?

Of course you can! This recipe will work the same for the Oven or the Instant Pot / Pressure Cooker. Follow the steps and place in a greased 8x8 glass baking dish.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes. It's delish

What Bread is best for French Toast Breakfast?

For this recipe I prefer to use French Bread. However, you could also use cubed slices of Texas Toast if you prefer.

And I might have even tried cubed pieces of Cinnaburst bread from my local bakery too.

Pecans are those secret ingredients that Adults love and kids haven't figured out are delicious. I'm serious.

It's like Thanksgiving and Pecan Pie which is never chosen by the kids and always LOVED by adults.

If you love Pecans like I do, then PLEASE give try Grandpa's FAVORITE Pecan Pie Recipe. Quick and easy and Oh so good!

    Can I freeze Pecans?

Actually you can freeze most all nuts. I keep my nuts in the freezer so they stay fresh.

Then I pull them out a few minutes before I need them and let them sit on the counter. I always have fresh nuts for recipes.

    Which Syrup is best?

A traditional Maple Syrup is nice. A Buttermilk syrup is delicious too. You can also try this fun recipe from a fellow blogger it's Vanilla Bubble Syrup and pairs nicely with this Pecan French Toast Recipe.

Great way to use up some French rolls I had leftover from a French dip dinner. I Didn’t have a springform pan so I made it in my Bundt cake pan. I put half of the nuts and crumble on the bottom of the pan and then covered it with half the bread mixture. Then did another layer. Turned out great.

I've never tried in a bunt pan. Did you cook the same amount of time? And I love that you used up extra French Rolls too! Great idea!

I don't have 2-tierd pans. I have springform pan and no cover for it. Can I use foil to cover?

      Thank you!

        Hi Sheri,
You can cover it in foil if you wish. I sometimes cover and sometimes leave it uncovered. Either way works great! If you are using a springform pan I do recommend using foil on the bottom to make sure no liquid leaks in or out.

You do not mention in the recipe to cover prior to inserting into the instant pot.
