How to make Christmas Rice Krispie Treats
Making a batch of Rice Crispy Teats is quick and easy to throw together. But feel free to use the pre-made rice krispy treats. They are also a great option.
In a large saucepan melt butter and marshmallows together. Once melted remove from heat and add Rice Krispies Cereal and mix together. Pour into a 9×9 baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Allow treats to cool to room temperature before cutting into rectangles.
Pre-made Rice Krispy Treats
I find it easiest to get all the needed supplies and ingredients set out and ready. Open remade Rice Krispy Treats and set on a parchment lined baking pan. The larger rectangle size works best often sold in boxes of 8 or 16.
How to melt Candy Wafer
In a microwave safe bowl melt candy melts in microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and melt for an addition 15 seconds. Stir and melt for 15 seconds more. Continue until candy is melted and smooth.
How to decorate Rice Krispie Treats
Dip one end of Rice Krispy into melted chocolate and then quickly dip into red sanding sugar. Now is the time to press a wooden popsicle stick into the top if desired and place on parchment paper to harden.
Once candy coating has cooled and harden dip opposite end into melted white chocolate and then quickly press into sweetened coconut to resemble a beard.
Candy eyes and nose can be attached with a drop of melted chocolate and put into place. A White candy snowflake, M&M, or even a Mini Marshmallow can be placed on Santa's hat.
Place back on parchment or wax paper to cool and harden.
