Rudolph's bright red nose gives him away every time. Reindeer Cookies have been a fun holiday cookie tradition as we watch one of our favorite cartoon Christmas shows. Can you see your little faces light up with excitement as they enjoy a Christmas cookie? I have and it's so fun.
Peanut Butter cookies have been a favorite of mine since forever, but I'm pretty picky when it comes to the types of cookies I like. I want a soft and chewy inside with a crisp outside. Which is why I love this recipe
Don't get me wrong, a traditional Old Fashioned Peanut Butter cookie is also delicious and always has a place in my heart. But for this recipe, let's stick with this fantastic cookie recipe.

There is a science to a good cookie recipe, below I've listed the ingredients used in this cookie recipe.
Shopping List
This recipe is pretty standard with Flour, butter, eggs and Peanut Butter of course.
Fats: A combination of Butter and Peanut Butter. Make sure to use softened butter to cream with Peanut Butter. Creamy or Chunky Peanut Butter will work just fine.
Sugars: A combination of both white granulated sugar and brown sugar are ideal. Brown sugar gives a sweet rich flavor and also helps keep the cookie moist.
Flour: All purpose flour is used the trick is in how to measure the flour. A Kitchen scale is ideal but if you do not have a scale then make sure to stir and lift the flour before gently scooping into measuring cup. To not tap or shake the measuring cup to settle the flour. That will result in adding too much flour and cookies will be dry.
Additional Ingredients: Egg, Baking Soda, Baking Powder and Vanilla Extract. All pretty standard ingredients in the home and pantry.
Decorations: Holiday M&M's, Candy Eyes, Mini Nilla Wafers, Pretzels and Chocolate Frosting
How to make Reindeer Christmas Cookies
- Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees.
- Using a stand mixer cream butter and peanut butter together. Add white granulated sugar and continue to mix and cream together.
- Add egg, Vanilla Extract and brown sugar and continue to cream together until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add dry ingredients a little at a time and mix until fully mixed together.
- Using a medium size #24 cookie scoop, scoop cookie dough into balls. Place cookie dough on baking sheets lined with parchment paper 2 inches apart so they do not touch while baking.

- Bake at 350F Degrees for 7-9 minutes, edges of cookies will turn golden and cookies are ready to remove from oven.
- Allow cookies to cool completely before decorating.
- Spread 1-2 tablespoons chocolate frosting over cookie and then place 2 pretzels on top for antlers. The frosting will hold pretzels in place.

- Add a mini 'Nilla Wafer on the bottom and using a little extra frosting place a tiny bit on M&M and stick to Nilla Wafer as the nose.
- Candy Eyes can be placed directly on frosting and will stick.
Why should I cool cookies on wire rack?
Cookies placed on wire rack to cool are able to cool quickly away from the heat of a baking sheet. This also helps the cooking process to end and allows cookies to cool with air to circulate around each cookie.
How many Cookies will this recipe make?
This is a small batch cookie recipe and will make approximately 24 cookies when using a medium cookie scoop.
How to store Rudolph Reindeer Cookies
Store cooled cookies in a large container with a lid. Placing a piece of parchment paper between the layers will help prevent cookies from sticking together.
Cookies can be frozen for up to 3 months.

Can other cookie recipes be used instead of Peanut Butter?
Try a soft sugar cookie recipe like the one I used in my Snowman Cookies. Or try a chocolate cookie as the base. There are many possibilities to choose from.
Can I use a hand mixer?
A Hand mixer would work for this recipe, it's important to cream the butters and sugars together until light and fluffy which may take more time when using a hand mixer over a stand mixer.
What stand mixer to you use?
I use the Bosch Universal Plus mixer and love it. My mother taught me to use a Bosch Mixer when I was just a little girl, I have grown up one and I couldn't live without it.
Why do I Love my Bosch Universal Mixer?
This is a great question as I have been asked it many times. Bosch is a brand name that makes a stand mixer to make and mix all kinds of things. I've been using a Bosch since I was very little, which means I've been using one for decades. Take a look at this post and tells you why I love my Bosch Mixer!
