Why Devils Food Cake?
I’ll be very candid with you. I prefer Betty Crocker Cake Mixes. I like the way they bake, the texture is always spot on. Devils Food Cake is a more dense cake. When making a Poke Cake you want a cake that is sturdy and will hold up with all the yummy ingredients you put on it. That is why I choose Devils Food Cake Mix for this recipe.

Mix up the cake according to the package and bake. Once out of the oven use the handle of a wooden spoon and poke holes into the cake. This is a fun step that the kids love to help with. The pan will be hot so make sure no one gets burned.

Pour 1 can of Sweetened Condensed Milk directly on the cake. Notice how I drizzle the sweetened condensed milk into every hole? I want to make sure it gets throughout the entire cake. Then I use a rubber spatula to spread all over.

The cake is still warm so the condensed milk will absorb quickly. Now let the cake cool. You can even place it in the refrigerator if you wish. But the cake must be cool before you proceed further.
Spread a small tub of Cool-Whip on top of cake and top with Heath Bar Bits and Mini Chocolate Chips. It’s that simple.

We love to drizzle Caramel Sauce on each piece before serving for an extra WOW Factor and it doesn’t disappoint.

Each Bit will curb your appetite and you will be licking your lips for more. As a family, we have loved making this fun and easy recipe for years. The kids don’t care what it’s called, they just know they want some and they always come back with a clean plate.
Family Memories are Priceless

The mini Peanut Butter Cups truly add to this recipe and I love the crunch of the Chex Mix. With so many textures and flavors, it’s a favorite for many reasons.
