These are the Best Lemon Bars, aside from being absolutely delicious. These easy bars are made with an Angel Food Cake which makes this recipe super simple.

I love the light texture the Angel Food cake gives to these bars too. As well as the delicious lemon flavor throughout.

    Lemon Bar 2 Ingredient Dessert

Now these Bars are not your traditional bars you might be thinking of with a crust and ooey gooey lemon. Those are great too.

I love desserts, and I really enjoy the flavor of lemon.  That’s why these Lemon Bars make the cut in our home.

A simple 2 ingredient recipe, the Angel Food cake mix cooks up to perfection with a light texture.

If you ever need a dessert to take to the office, or neighborhood picnic, this recipe is really perfect.

You can make these Lemon Bars the day ahead and they will be perfect for your special occasion.

    Lemon Bar Cake Mix Recipe

You can make this recipe in a large bowl using a hand mixer or in a larger mixer, like I have used.

Either way these lemon bars with cake miix will turn out perfect.

    Lemon Bar Mixture before baking

For me, I prefer this recipe over many other Lemon Bar recipes because I feel like the Angel Food Cake holds the bar together really nicely.

Often times Lemon Bars tend to break and fall apart and you aren’t sure what you are eating.

With the Angel Food Cake mix as an ingredient, it combines with the Lemon Pie Filling to make a perfect texture.

    Quick Tips

This Lemon Bar recipe is easily adapted to a perfect Key Lime bar. By using Key Lime Pie Filling instead of Lemon Pie Filling.  Oh, can you even imagine how delicious those are??

I just made this recipe and used two cans of pudding with one box of angel food cake mix...don't know how they are going to come out but hopefully they will be more dense. We shall see 🙂

Can I use scratch lemon pudding with this? Do not like canned lemon pudding, has a chemical taste to me.

The recipe calls for canned Lemon Pie Filling. Boxed Lemon Pudding is not something I have tested to know how it would work with this recipe.

Couldn't find the can of Lemon Pie filling. Can you use the box type pudding to add to it. (making it and adding to angel food dry mix)

Hi Judy, I haven't tried this recipe with lemon pudding but you could certainly give it a try! I imagine it would work!

        Hi Mary,
A Jelly Roll Pan is typically larger than what is needed for this recipe. However, you could give it a try. The bars would likely cook for less time. Let me know how it works for you!

I just made this. Mine looks more like angel food cake instead of bars. Maybe I did something wrong.

Hi Tammy, These are a light and airy lemon bar and will be taller than a traditional Lemon Bar with can be very dense and thick. The more water you add to this recipe the taller these Lemon Bars become. Hope that helps!
