What’s in Instant Pot Teriyaki Chicken?
- 1lb Chicken Breasts
- 1 Cup Plus 2-3Tbs Water *Divided
- ¼ Cup Soy Sauce
- 4 Tbs Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
- 1 teaspoon Crushed Garlic
- ½ teaspoon Ginger
- 2 Tbs Corn Starch
- Garnish - Sesame Seeds, Green Onions
How to make Instant Pot Teriyaki Chicken
- Cut your chicken breast into small bite-sized pieces.
- In your instant pot, pour 1 cup of water, ¼ cup of soy sauce, 4 tablespoons of brown sugar, honey, and garlic. Stir to combine.
- Add your cut chicken and stir to make sure that none of the chicken pieces are sticking together.
- Set your instant pot to manual high pressure and cook for 5 minutes with a 3-minute natural release.
- In a separate bowl, combine 2-3 Tbs of water and 2 tablespoons of corn starch to make a slurry.
- Add your slurry mix to the chicken and stir. The sauce will thicken as it sits and cools. If needed Press Saute button and reduce sauce until you reach desired consistency

Can I Freeze Instant Pot Chicken Teriyaki Recipe?
If you want to make the meal in advance, you can pair all of the ingredients (minus the slurry) together in a zipper topped bag and placed in the freezer.
When you’re ready to cook you can take the frozen bag and dump out the ingredients into the instant pot. You may need to add a few minutes to the cooking time.

There are plenty of ways that you can choose to reheat your leftover chicken teriyaki. The method that you select is up to you.
- You can place it in the microwave for a fast solution, stir it up after a minute and continue heating if needed.
- On the stovetop stirring continuously until it is heated through.
- If time is not of the essence and you can wait a little longer for the reheated chicken teriyaki, you can cook it in the oven on a foil-lined baking sheet.

FYI, Step 6 has Step 1 included at the end 🙂 Great easy recipe. I added about 1.5 T Hoisin Sauce before I added the slurry. I wanted to add red pepper flakes but forgot! Will add to the leftovers.

Hi Erika, Yes, the cooking time stays the same when cooking with the Pressure Cooker. You double all the ingredients and keep the cook time the same.
