Hi Mar, this recipe doesn't have Shrimp in the recipe it self. If you wish to add Shrimp or Chicken to this recipe I suggest adding at the end and making sure the chicken or shrimp and precooked.

Yes, the veggies are perfectly cooked with the zero time. They are heated through and not overly cooked.

Ni, it's not a typo. Adjust the -/+ buttons to Zero (0). This will force the Pressure Cooker to heat up and seal. Then the front panel will adjust and you will hear the beeb letting you know the cooking process has completed. This is just enough time to cook the veggies and the noodles.

If you have an Instant Pot, you need to make this delicious Ramen Pad Thai. Easiest thing on earth to make, with wonderful flavors and mild enough even for the kiddies. I added some cooked shrimp to the finished product to make it a protein-rich one-dish dinner. This recipe will definitely be on repeat at my house!

Hi Adam, When setting the pressure cooker use the +/- keys to adjust to 0 (Zero) minutes. I know it sounds crazy. But the Pressure Cooker will heat up and pressurize. Then it will beep letting you know the cooking process is complete. It's just that easy. Some recipes don't take much time at all to cook and remember the cooking is also happening as it's pressuring up.

This recipe was so yummy! The only suggestion is to update your written recipe- step one and step 2 both indicate ingredients are placed on the bottom of the instant pot. I was able to scroll through your post to determine that the liquid gets put in first.

        Hi Kelley,

Did you still just do 0 minutes, even with the veggies? This is what I was thinking of doing tonight, but wasn't sure if I should up the time by a minute to deal with the carrots and cabbage. Scared I'll end up with mushy noodles.

Hi Christy, Thanks for a great review. You can try different types of noodles but keep in mind that vegetables will cook in short times and changing noodles will increase the time pressure cooked. So you may want to cook noodles and then add veggies to the hot pot to steam.

Hi Raychal, I haven't tested this recipe with rice noodles. But I would try 1 minute. With noodles it's always best to have enough liquid to cover the noodles, So you might adjust the sauce in this recipe a little bit so there is enough liquid for the rice noodles. Ramen Noodles need very little liquid for cooking. Let me know how it goes.

Made this tonight, so simple and so delicious!! We also added frozen shrimp, which might’ve added too much liquid making noodles mushy, but it was still so good! Also, to avoid a possible Burn notice, I stirred well after adding the peanut butter and made sure none was sticking to the bottom! Such an easy and delicious recipe! Thank you!!

Hi Chelsey! Adding shrimp is a great idea, however with frozen shrimp it will take longer to pressurize which means the pasta is cooking longer than anticipated. Next time try thawing the shrimp before throwing them in. Hope that helps!

Hi Martha! I'm sure "Zero" minutes can seem confusing. However, it's the perfect time when pressure cooking certain recipes. Set your pressure cooker to "Pressure Cook" and then adjust the +/- buttons to "Zero". The pressure cooker will heat up, build pressure and seal. Once it is sealed, it will beep letting you know the cook time has finished. Hope this helps!

The only thing I thought that is it should have a little more sauce so next time when I make it I will probably do two and a half times the sauce rather than just double the sauce. Hi Mandy! Yes of course you can make it on the stove. Follow the stove top directions for cooking times.

Hi Crystal, Sorry for the confusion, it's Fish Sauce. I'll update that so there isn't further confusion for others. Thanks so much!

Made this tonight and it was superb. Thank you for the recipe! I left out the fish sauce to veganize, and added a few tsp vegetarian stir-fry sauce. Loved it, will make again!

Hi Deana! This is a great recipe. Good idea to swap out the Fish Sauce and 'veganize' the recipe. I LOVE it! You might also like the Asian Noodle Recipe too. Check it out!

Why does this say set to 0 minutes?

Hi Pat! Great question. The pressure time is "0" minutes. Set your Instant Pot to Pressure Cook/Manual High and use the +/- buttons to adjust the time to Zero. These noodles don't need long to cook and it's the perfect amount of time. Allow the Instant Pot to pressure up, and once it beeps, then do your Quick Release. Hope this helps!

Susan, this recipe wouldn't work with raw chicken, raw chicken would cook longer and the noodles would be mushy. You can throw in cooked chicken just fine to this recipe without adding any extra time.

Hi Miriam... You can use your favorite hot sauce. I use Cholula Hot Sauce. You can also add more or less depending on how much heat you want. Good Luck!

Curious that the sodium is so high with just a small amt of Teriyaki sauce and fish sauce.

I Lorraine! The nutritional Information is auto calculated and can be off. It's an estimate. But I would agree. I don't believe this recipe has this much sodium. 😉

Just made this and doubled the recipe. I was disappointed it turned out mushy and the burn notification came on. Not sure why since I doubled the amount of liquid and put it on zero minutes. Any other tips?

Hi Nate... I'm sorry your Ramen Pad Thai didn't turn out as expected. If you allowed any kind of natural release this would lengthen the cooking time and over cook the noodles. It's possible using a different brand of noodles could also be a factor. We make this often and have not had this problem. But those are my suggestions!

This was so easy to make! I used 2- 8oz packages of Steam Fresh veggies (carrots, snow peas, broccoli and water chestnuts). I also added the noodles after the 0 cook time and let them sit long enough to soak up most of the liquid, maybe 3-5 min. It was very good, I plan to make it again.

Hi Lisa, Frozen Veggies are often blanched before being frozen so they have started the cooking process. Raw Veggies tend to need a little extra time, but not a significant amount to get a little more cooked. Although it's a personal preference on how tender you like your cooked veggies.
