While you could, results would vary greatly. I honestly recommend using a high quality extra virgin olive oil for this recipe. Anything less than that may give less than satisfactory results.
My mixture is very liquid, is that okay?
Absolutely! You want the batter to be pretty liquidy, as crazy as that may be. But don’t worry. No matter how thin that batter might appear, it still bakes up perfectly.

If you have any left to store, keep them in an airtight container. By keeping them in a sealed container at room temp they can stay fresh.
While you can keep them in the fridge, they do great at room temperature.
How long does Pão de Queijo last?
If kept properly stored they can last up to 4 days. Because there are no preservatives they don’t last as long as storebought.
This is actually a good thing though- it means it’s better for your body and tastes better!

Is Pão de Queijo the same as Brazilian Cheese Bread?
YES! It's the same wonderful recipe you will love!

Of course you can, make it your own flavors by mixing cheeses or adding different cheese. We prefer Sharp Cheddar as it gives a robust flavor. Try a Parmesan cheese, it's delish!

These were pretty tasty but next time I would probably substitute the olive oil for canola oil or something more mild because the olives oil taste wasn’t super pleasant for this particular recipe in my opinion
Shirley
Can the dough be frozen before baking? I would like to make several batches so I can bake at a moment’s notice.
Devour Dinner
Hi Shirley, the batter is liquid and is easily made in a blender. I would not suggest freezing.

Can regular muffin tins be used instead of the mini muffin tins?
Devour Dinner
Hi Gig, I have not tested this recipe using the larger size muffin tins. Typically this cheese bread recipe is done in the mini muffin pan. But you could always give it a try!
Gig Duz
Can you use regular flour instead of tapioca flour & same amount?
Devour Dinner
Hi! Unfortunately you will need Tapioca Flour for this recipe as it has a bit of a different consistency and helps to create the cheesy center of these cheese bread balls.

The recipe looks great and similar to ones I have had, but I am not seeing the size of the rolls. Are they baked in mini muffin pans? Picture looks like they are small, so how many does this make?
Cindy
My Brazilian friend was so happy I made these for her - and she loved how they tasted. So easy and delicious.
Kylie
Hi there! I’m excited to try this recipe. Is there a way to make it without a blender? Perhaps with a hand mixer (and how, if so)? Thanks in advance!
Devour Dinner
Hi Kylie, I haven't tried mixing the ingredients with a hand mixer but you could certainly try it out. The goal is to whip and blend all the ingredients together.
