In this recipe I used fresh basil which was out of this world delicious and I highly recommend. You could of course use dried basil or even Italian Seasonings but I do prefer fresh.

Drop Biscuits are so easy to throw together even the kids could help make these without needing much help at all, depending on their age of course.

Ingredient List for Easy Drop Biscuits

    • All Purpose Flour
    • Baking Powder
    • Kosher Salt
    • Basil
    • Garlic Cloves
    • Parmesan Cheese
    • Mozzarella Cheese
    • 2 % Milk
    • Vegetable Oil
    • Butter

How to make Easy Drop Biscuits

Gather all ingredients and a mixing bowl. This recipe will be mixed by hand with a large spoon. I do suggest weighing Flour in this recipe so you don't end up with dry biscuits.

Step 1: In a mixing bowl add All Purpose Flour, Kosher Salt, Baking Powder and chopped fresh Basil. Stir ingredients together.

Step 2: Add minced Garlic, Parmesan Cheese and Mozzarella Cheese and quickly stir to combine all ingredients together.

Step 5: Bake at 400F Degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown

Why are they called Drop Biscuits?

Drop Biscuits have a crusty top with peaks and uneven tops due to the batter being dropped on a baking sheet. They are sometimes called Mountain Biscuits because they use only a few ingredients and are so simple to make.

Why is my Easy Drop Biscuit Crumbly?

A Drop Biscuit will become crumbly if the ratio of liquid to flour isn't correct. For this recipe I recommend weighting ingredients for proper amounts. Below is a universal list of commonly used ingredients and their weight measurements
