Tender Air Fryer Mushrooms a tasty side dish perfect with a grilled steak or seasoned chicken breast. So quick and easy to make you will have them with dinner often.

I'm a mushroom fan, I loved them seasoned with salt and pepper and sautéed in melted butter with a little garlic. It's truly my jam so I was skeptical to give this a try in the air fryer. Why mess with perfection when cooking on a stove works so well.
Let me tell you, Air Fryer Mushrooms are amazing! They are soft and tender while still holding their shape. Covered in olive oil and garlic, any mushroom lover will adore these as a side dish.

Shopping List
Mushrooms. Button Mushrooms, Cremini Mushrooms, Portobello Mushrooms
Seasonings: Minced Garlic, Salt, Pepper, and Onion Powder

Favorite Mushrooms
There are a variety of mushrooms you can cook with and I have my favorites to share with you. In this recipe I used Cremini Mushrooms. Which is a smaller Portobello Mushroom where the cap has not opened yet.
Different types of mushrooms to try
- Button Mushrooms or White Mushrooms (Baby Bellas) the most mild mushroom flavors
- Crimini Mushrooms look similar to Button Mushrooms but have a darker cap like a Portobello Mushroom. They have a much more meaty flavor making them a favorite by man
- Portobello Mushrooms. Their large wide cap are ideal to use in many recipes and they are delicious to cook whole or dice in smaller pieces
- Shiitake Mushroom.

Fresh Mushrooms have been used in cooking, health and medicinal purposes. You will find mushrooms in the produce secion of your local grocery store but did you know they are not a plant but fungi?
Mushrooms are part of the fungi kingdom and create their food from dead or decayed matter. They are high in fiber and a good source of vitamin A, C, B6, B12, & Vitamin D.
How to make Air Fryer Mushrooms
Take a moment to carefully wash and clean mushrooms. They are very fragile. Under a light stream of water rinse away any extra dirt from the mushrooms then carefully use a damp paper towel to remove any excess liquid.
The stems can be removed or kept depending on preference. Then slice or dice mushroom to desired size making sure the mushrooms are as uniform as possible.

In a large mixing bowl add minced garlic, salt, pepper, and onion power. You can substitute garlic powder if you wish.
Toss with a little extra virgin olive oil to lightly coat mushrooms.

In the pictures shown I have used Cremini Mushrooms which have a hearty rich meaty flavor. White Button Mushrooms or Baby Bella Mushrooms are the most common mushroom and also are a great choice.
Place seasoned mushrooms into air fryer basket in a single layer. I prefer to place a piece of parchment paper into the air fryer basket which helps for easy clean up. You can purchase parchment paper with holes that works best to keep air flow throughout the cook time.

Air-Fried Mushrooms are done when they are soft and tender. The garlic flavors will be heavenly in this easy recipe. Garnish with some lemon juice, lemon wedges or fresh parsley.
The savory flavor is a perfect side dish recipe and wonderful to serve on special occasions as well as every day dinners.
Serve
Serve mushrooms on a serving plate. I love to sprinkle with parmesan cheese or leave plain. Of course mushrooms are delicious with your favorite steak or seasoned chicken breast. I love them on a good hamburger too.

Air Fryer Basket. Line with Parchment Paper or spray with Baking Oil Spray
Mushroom Types. Cremini Mushrooms, Baby Bella Mushrooms, Portobello Mushrooms, Shiitake Mushrooms are all great varieties and the best mushrooms to use in this recipe.
Crisp Mushrooms. If you prefer a crispy mushroom over a soft and tender mushroom, use less olive oil and increase temperature to 400 degrees. The quicker the mushrooms cook, the outside will become more crisp.
Doubling Recipe. This recipe can easily be doubled in a larger air fryer or do 2 batches in a smaller air fryer.
Storage. Store leftover mushrooms in a sealed container for up to a week in refrigerator. Best if enjoyed with 2-3 days.

Air Fryer Mushrooms
Ingredients
- 8 ounces Mushrooms Baby Bellas, Cremini, Portabello
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Minced
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- ¼ teaspoon Onion Powder to taste
- 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Instructions
- Wash and dry mushrooms removing any extra dirt
- Slice mushrooms into similar size pieces
- In a mixing bowl combine mushrooms, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and onion power.
- Drizzle Extra Virgin Olive Oil over mushrooms and toss to coat
- Place mushrooms in a single layer into Air Fryer basket.
- Air Fry at 370 degrees for 9-11 minutes.
- Toss mushrooms half way through.
- Garnish with lemon juice or lemon wedge, parmesan cheese, and parsley.
