Steamed and Loaded Cauliflower is not only delicious it's Keto Friendly too. I love how versatile this vegetable is and it's just delicious. I grew up eating Steamed Cauliflower and love it even more with some melted Cheddar Cheese, Bacon Crumbles and Green Onions. A simple recipe and PERFECT Side Dish all year long!

    Loaded Cauliflower

You may find other Loaded Cauliflower Recipes loaded with sour cream and maybe even Cream Cheese and they are good too. But if you ask me, I love the simplicity of my recipe. It has plenty of flavors and textures which the men in my life love!

Cauliflower is Keto Friendly so adding Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, and Green Onions dresses it up, and makes this side dish delicious! In about 15 minutes you can be eating this easy recipe. I prefer to steam the Cauliflower first. A steaming basket is ideal, but you can also add a little water to a sauce pan and throw in the bite size pieces of Cauliflower.

    Loaded Cauliflower

Choose a medium size head of Cauliflower and cut away the stem and green leaves. Wash to remove any chemicals from the fields and prepare the head by cutting small bite sized florets. Remember you will be enjoying this recipe with a fork, so cut nice small bite size florets. It will be perfect, trust me.

    Loaded Cauliflower Ingredients

    • Head of Cauliflower
    • 1 Cup Cheddar Cheese Grated
    • 1 Bunch Green Onions Diced
    • ½ Cup Bacon Crumbles or 4-5 cooked sliced of bacon crumbled
    • ¼ teaspoon Salt
    • ¼ teaspoon Pepper
    Bite Sized Cauliflower Florets

    How to make Loaded Cauliflower

    • Preheat oven to Broil
    • Cut head of Cauliflower in small bite size pieces
    • Rinse under cool water to remove any dirt or chemicals
    • In a sauce pan using a steamer basket. Add ½in water to pot and place Cauliflower Florets into steamer basket. Place lid on top of pan.
    • Steam for 5-7 minutes over medium-high heat. You want a little crunch left on the Cauliflower
    • Remove pan from stove, drain any liquid and place in an over safe serving bowl
    • Salt and Pepper to Taste
    • Top with Graded Cheddar Cheese, Bacon Crumbles and Diced Green Onions
    • Place in Oven under Broiler for 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted

    Cauliflower Fun Facts

    • Cauliflower can grow from 8-30 inches in width and height
    • Bigger Heads of Cauliflower have a Bigger Stronger Flavor
    • Cauliflower leaves are edible. They have a strong flavor and can be used in making stock
    • 90% of your Daily Vitamin C is can be found in just ½ Cup Cooked Cauliflower
    • The Green Variety is called Broccoflower because it looks like Broccoli.

When choosing Cauliflower make sure to buy a head that is dense and heavy. Leaves should look fresh and green. Cauliflower Florets should be tight and compact. If you see dark spots or mildew made sure to cut off before cooking. Wash Cauliflower when you are ready to use, not before.

    Cauliflower Smell

I've heard that if you cook Cauliflower with celery seeds it will cut the smell. I personally don't mind the smell as I love Cauliflower. But adding about ¼ teaspoon to the water when steaming will do the trick.

    Is Cauliflower Keto?

One half cup Cauliflower has about 1.5 grams of net carbs which makes this vegetable Keto Friendly. You may have heard to Cauliflower Rice, and even Pizza Crust. Don't knock it until you try it. Keto Rice is wonderful and can be difficult to tell you aren't eating rice at all.

    When to Serve Loaded Cauliflower?

Loaded Cauliflower is a delicious side dish recipe and can be served with any meal. It's also wonderful for the holidays and a great low carb recipe for your guests.
