Caramel, creamy Chocolate and a cookie base makes Twix Cookies even better than the original candy bar. Try both, Pick a Side, may be the Slogan for Twix Chocolate bars but you haven't fully enjoyed a Twix without enjoying all the layers. Am I right?

Even as a kid, I bit off the chocolate to get the caramel center because I ultimately wanted the cookie in the end. So why not a Twix Cookie with all the layers in perfect balance to enjoy. Yum. Just Yum!
I love my Swig Cookie recipe, it's a sugar cookie recipe that isn't too sweet with a texture that bursts in your mouth. Adding a thick layer of caramel on top has me drooling but don't stop there, a chocolate ganache top that is smooth and rich is a perfect way to top off this cookie recipe.

So let's get down to the details and I'll help you make your own Twix Cookies Recipe right at home. I always like to gather the ingredients so it's easy to make everything and I don't accidentally forget an ingredient.
Shopping List for Twix Cookies

- Eggs

How to make Twix Cookies Recipe
For this recipe I love to use my Bosch Universal Mixer. It's a large stand mixer with a durable motor to mix large batches of dough to even simple cake mix recipes. You can use a hand mixer if you prefer for this recipe.

- Cream butter, Coconut Oil together and then add Vegetable Oil. Cream together. Add Dixie Crystals Sugar and Eggs. Whip until light and fluffy. Add Milk.
- In a separate bowl combine Powdered Sugar, Baking Soda, Cream of Tartar, Salt, and Flour. Mix to combine.
- Add flour mixture a little at a time until fully incorporated. The dough will be soft but not sticky.
- Scoop dough using a medium-size #24 cookie scoop. Place 2 scoops, one on top of the other, on greased cookie sheet.
- Use the bottom of a Mason Jar or Glass drinking glass and press cookie dough. Dip into sugar and repeat on all cookies. This helps flatten cookies and make the signature cracked edges of the sugar cookie. It also gives each cookie a dusting of sugar for an added burst of flavor and texture
- Bake at 350 degrees for 8-9 minutes. Do not over bake. Cookies will be baked but no golden edges. Do Not Over Bake. Makes about 32 Large Cookies

Caramel and Chocolate Gnache
- In a bowl combine Caramel Bits and ½ Cup Whipping Cream. Melt over medium heat until smooth. This is a slow process. Don't turn the heat up too high or the caramel will burn and harden
- In a separate bowl combine Chocolate Chips and 1 Cup Whipping Cream. Melt over medium heat until smooth stirring constantly.

How to Frost Twix Cookies
- Place 1-2 tablespoons Caramel on each cookie and using the back of a spoon spreading over cookie to edges. Allow caramel to cool and set
- Place 1-2 Tablespoons Chocolate Ganache on top of caramel using back of a spoon and spreading over caramel leaving some of the caramel showing. Allow ganache to cool and set.
- Store cooled cookies in sealed container with parchment paper separating cookies to keep from sticking.

Are Caramel Bits the same as Caramels?
1 Cup of Caramel Bits is the same as about 25 Caramels and can be substituted in this recipe easily.
I'm in Love with Twix Cookies. Twix has been a favorite candy bar of mine since I can remember and anything with Caramel, Chocolate and a Cookie is right up my ally of delicious treats.
