I’ve made Toaster Strudels in every way imaginable, and trust me—the air fryer version wins every time. Perfectly golden, flaky layers with warm, sweet filling inside, this simple breakfast hack is my go-to for busy mornings. It’s reliable, fast, and always delivers that bakery-style crisp you can’t get from a toaster.

With the recent visit of my adult children and my grandchildren you can bet we made life easy with a few simple meals and using the Air Fryer is always a hit. Pillsbury Toaster Strudel was on the list and I found out how easy they are to make in the air fryer basket.
These sweet treats will become golden brown and make for a quick breakfast. Be sure place any leftover toaster strudel in an airtight container to be reheated later for another tasty breakfast or snack.

Find Pillsbury brand box of Toaster Strudel in the freezer section of the grocery store. The flavor options are fantastic. Strawberry shown in these photos is tasty and always a fun flavor. Make sure to try Cream Cheese & Strawberry, Apple, Blueberry, Cherry, Raspberry and always a favorite Cinnamon Roll Toaster Strudel flavor.
Each flaky pastry comes with it's own toaster strudel icing. I like to let the icing come to room temperature and then knead it in the small package before opening. It's easy to drizzle icing on this hot tasty treat!

Let's Make it! Toaster Strudel Air Fryer Recipe
The steps are easy. Push aside the toaster and place a frozen toaster strudels on parchment paper in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Preheat the Air Fryer to 350 degrees F ensures the basket style air fryer is heated and ready.

Place 2-4 frozen pastry in the basket and set for 4 minutes. I know the recipe says 5-7 minutes. But I've also found that different air fryers heat differently from brand to brand and no one wants their sweet snack over cooked now do they?
Keeping a close eye on the cooking time will ensure properly toasted toaster pastries.
If after 4 minutes they aren't toasty golden in color make sure to add a minute or two more to reach the perfect breakfast treat.
Always be sure to carefully remove from hot basket using tongs.
Icing Drizzle on Toaster Strudel Breakfast
Each package will come with icing pouches for each Toaster Strudel. If Icing is too cold make sure to warm up in your hands by kneading icing in pouch.
Then carefully drizzle icing over air fried pastry.
Kitchen Secrets / Cooking Clues
One of my favorite tricks: if you’re making more than one batch, reduce the cooking time by a minute for later rounds. The air fryer stays hot and crisps faster. And if your strudel leaks a bit of filling—don’t worry, that’s a sign it’s perfectly cooked inside.

Making Homemade Toaster Strudels
It's also pretty easy to make your own homemade pastry using puff pastry sheets, fresh fruit, or even your favorite strawberry jam.
Carefully roll out pastry sheet. I like to make sure the sheet is rectangle and only pressed out slightly.
Cut each sheet into 6 or 8 rectangles by cutting down the middle and then into equally portion rectangles of your choosing. Do this to both Puff Pastry Sheets.
Then fill with your favorite apple filling, strawberry jam, or even cinnamon roll filling. Making sure to leave ½ inch gap around the edges so you can press the seems together.
Place an additional rectangle on top and using a fork press seems together.
Make a simple egg wash with 1 egg and 1 tablespoon water and brush over pastry. Don't forget to poke some holes in the top to allow steam to escape.
Then bake up in the Air Fryer and they will be the best thing ever!
Baking homemade toaster strudel may take additional air fryer time.
Puff blank pastry sheets can be found in the frozen food section of your local grocery store.
