Have you tried Air Fried Lemon Chicken?  Lemon Chicken Marinade is one of those recipes you didn’t know you needed until you tried it.  The simple marinade really turns a piece of chicken into a delicious mouthwatering dish you will love.

    Lemon Chicken Marinade

Seasoned with Italian Seasonings, Olive Oil and Fresh Lemon Juice, it won’t matter if you marinate Chicken Thighs or Breasts.  They will all be delicious.

Trust me when I say that this recipe is a keeper.  So Pin it NOW so you can find it later.  Lemon Chicken is a standard recipe.  Each piece of chicken will be perfectly seasoned and marinated.  Fresh Lemon Juice penetrates deep to ensure every bite has a citrus tangy taste.

    Lemon Chicken Marinade

Weather you Air Fry, Grill, or Bake you will go back for more so make sure to throw some extra pieces in the marinade because you will want them.

    Cuts of Chicken

Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs are wonderful to marinate.  The tender dark meat is flavored perfectly if dark meat is your jam.

Chicken Breasts are also ideal.  I prefer to slice larger breasts in half horizontally to make a smaller chicken cutlet.

Whole Chickens can also be marinated and seasoned but you will want to Roast in the Oven for best results.

    Lemon Chicken Marinade Ingredients

    Lemon Chicken Ingredients

    • 1½ lbs Chicken
    • 4 Tbs Olive Oil
    • 4 Tbs Fresh Lemon Juice
    • 1 Tbs Italian Seasonings
    • 1 Tbs Garlic Crushed
    • ½ teaspoon Pepper
    • ¾  tsp Salt
    • 1 Lemon sliced thin

In a bowl combine Olive Oil, Lemon Juice, Italian Seasoning, Crushed Garlic, Salt and Pepper.  Stir to combine.  Marinade Chicken Breasts or Thighs for at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours.

Lemon Chicken Marinade in a bowl

Add sliced Lemons to the marinade and stir all ingredients.

I prefer to place marinade with chicken to a Zip-Loc bag.  It’s easily placed in refrigerator to marinate.  Shake bag to ensure chicken is coated.

I don’t recommend marinating overnight.  Lemon Juice, although a great tenderizer can also change the texture of chicken if left to marinate too long.

    How to Air Fry Chicken

Make sure to refer to your users manual for your specific Air Fryer.  I love to use the Mealthy CrispLid which will turn any 6qt or 8qt Pressure Cooker into an Air Fryer.  The small space of the CrispLid is ideal for so many reasons.

I personally love how compact this until it.  I just don’t have room for another full size appliance.  The CrispLid is perfect for my family.

I slice Chicken Breasts in half lengthwise (horizontally) to make a smaller Cutlet.  Each cutlet will Air Fry at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes per side depending on size.

For more information and to find out Why I LOVE using my CrispLid make sure to check out this post I wrote all about it.  Use code DEVOURDINNER at checkout to receive $10 off your purchase price.

    Bake for Temperature

You’ve seen me use the Thermapen MK4 to test internal temperature.  Honestly, I threw all my other pen type thermometers away once I tried the Thermapen.  It’s so accurate and easily folds and is stored away for later use.

Chicken Breasts should reach 165 degrees internal temperature.  When you cook using Temperatures you guarantee yourself consistent results.

Learn more about the Thermapen MK4. This is the only digital thermometer brand I trust.

    • 4 Tbs Lemon Juice
    • 1 Tbs Italian Seasonings
    • 1 Tbs Garlic - Crushed
    • ½ teaspoon Pepper
    • ¾ teaspoon Salt
    • 1 Lemon - Sliced

    Instructions

    Lemon Chicken Marinade

    • In a bowl combine Olive Oil, Lemon Juice, Italian Seasonings, Garlic, salt and pepper
    • Mix to combine
    • Add Chicken
    • Marinate for 1 hour or up to 4 hours

    • Place Chicken in Air Fryer

    • Top with Lemon. Enjoy.

    Notes

Marinate for 1 to 4 hours.  Do not over marinate.
Lemon Juice is a natural tenderizer but too much of a good thing will change the texture of the chicken to stringy and the meat will fall apart.
