One of my favorite camping treats is Campfire S'mores in an Alumium Foil Pan, or as my family likes to call them, S'mores Nachos. They are a fun treat that everyone enjoys and everyone can make! That sweet sticky taste of a S'more is for many the best part of the campfire and camping. It brings back memories of your childhood and all the kids will love them.

    Campfire S'mores

With this particular recipe, it's a fun twist on regular smores. The Tin Foil Campfire meal idea is very quick in preparation. Super easy to make and even easier to enjoy. I hope that you’ll find S'mores Nachos to be the next big hit on the family camping trip.

While camping, we like meals that are fun, quick, and easy to make. Tinfoil can be a great cooking tool when camping. It is cheap, easy to shape around food, and can help to fully cook food. Another benefit of it is it is super easy to clean up and can just be thrown away! If you’ve done dishes while camping, you know how annoying it can be.

There are many great meals to make while camping. All you really need is an outdoor grill or a campfire! I love going camping with my family. To be surrounded by your family members in a scenic natural environment is a marvelous thing. We try to go at least a couple of times a year, and it is a great little getaway.

    Campfire S'mores

Now let's look at the ingredients needed and the step-by-step directions on how to make these delicious S’mores Nachos.

    Ingredients:

    • Large Marshmallows
    • Hershey’s Kisses
    • Rolo Chocolates
    • Graham Crackers

    Supplies:

    • Foil Tin

    Making Campfire S’mores

Making individual S’mores is fun around a campfire but how about making Campfire S’mores that you eat and enjoy like Nachos!  I fell into this recipe and it’s so easy to throw together and make while camping or even on the backyard BBQ.

I give the ingredients to the boys and let them throw it together. It saves me time and time again with having a dessert and not having to worrying about roasting sticks for individual marshmallows.

Use an aluminum foil tin.  I love the circle cake pan size, but I have used a larger 9x13 aluminum size with larger groups.  I prefer making multiple cake pan sizes for large groups over making a bigger cake pan size personally.

A Cake Pan size is perfect for 4-5 servings. Remember S'mores are rich so a little goes a long way. And it never hurts to have the extra graham crackers and chocolate for those that want to snack on too.

Step 1: Add pieces of Graham Crackers to the bottom.  No need to spray the pan.  Just break them up, and throw them in as a single layer.

Step 2: Top with large marshmallows and then add Hershey Kisses and Rolo Chocolate Candies.  Finally, tuck pieces of Graham Crackers in between the marshmallows and chocolate pieces.

Step 3: To heat, there are a few options so hear me out!

    Campfire Method:

Heat a fire and let burn down until you have hot coals.  Place a couple of large rocks (fist size) around coals.  These will help lift the foil pan off the coals.  Then place the pan and allow the coals to heat and cook the S’mores Nachos.

Time will vary depending on the number of coals, heat, etc.  You can place a piece of foil over the top like a tent to help heat through.

    BBQ Method:

Heat BBQ to about 350 Degrees and place foil on the grill.  Close lid and allow heat to heat chocolate and marshmallows until melted.  This can happen quickly, 3-5 minutes for a well-heated BBQ Grill.

    Oven Method:

Place S’mores in the oven under the broiler.  Place rack on the 2nd notch down.  Broil for 2-3 minutes keeping a close eye so they do not burn.

I love S’mores Treats and I love to make them in so many ways, so make sure to take a look at these other desserts too!

The best part of Camping or even Family Reunions is great food! Half the battle is in preparing and cooking. Am I right? Not everyone wants a front row seat around a campfire and the smoke. But we all love the combination of Marshmallows, Chocolate and Grahams. You can't go wrong with this dessert for everyone to dip into and enjoy!
