Charcuterie Boards have become not only festive but all the rage. Making a Pancake Charcuterie Board will wow your family or those you serve Breakfast to and trust me, their faces will light up as they dive in and enjoy such a beautiful presentation.

    Breakfast Charcuterie Board

Breakfast doesn't have to be boring, let's dress it up with this fun, quick and easy idea for displaying a traditional pancake breakfast. Are you ready? I sure am!

    What is a Charcuterie Board?

A Charcuterie Board is traditionally a meat and cheese platter that can also contain fruit and a variety of nuts. Displayed all together so guests can choose a little here and pick a little there. It's a fun way to build an appetizer.

The novelty has grown to more specific Charcuterie Boards that range from Dessert Charcuterie Boards to Breakfast and every Holiday too. Trust me they are so fun to make and even more fun to enjoy with your favorite people. The memories are priceless.

Choosing Ingredients for Pancake Charcuterie Board

I have suggestions you can follow but remember choose ingredients you enjoy! It's fun to have a variety of yummy ingredients and the best boards have color contrast as well as textures to make them even more appealing to the eyes.

Fun Fact, did you know you begin eating with your eyes well before food crosses your lips? It's true. Meals that are plated beautifully are typically enjoyed more. Try it, and you just might agree.

Some of my favorite ingredients to add to a Pancake Charcuterie Board are

    • Pancakes ~ I like Mini Pancakes, they are just fun
    • Fresh Fruit ~ Raspberries, Strawberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, Bananas, Oranges
    • Yogurt in a complimenting flavor for berries
    • Granola because it's just delicious
    • Syrup and Butter

    Making Mini Pancakes

I prefer to make Mini Pancakes because they tend to fit nicely on a cutting board, you will need to make extra as everyone will be taking 4 or 5 mini pancakes to fill their plates. But it's worth it because they are just so cute.

Try using my Fluffy Pancake Recipe for light and fluffy thick pancakes. Besides being delicious they are worth the effort. You can of course use a packaged Pancake Mix if you wish.

    Fluffy Pancakes

I find I prefer using a Medium Cookie Scoop size #24 works perfectly to create a mini pancake. One scoop is enough and it's like magic having each pancake perfect portioned and the same size.

Place Pancake Mix on greased Hot Griddle. Cook until batter firms up around edges and bubbles pop on top. Flip and cook other side until light golden brown

    Favorite Syrup

Butter Milk Syrup is a family favorite. Do you have a favorite syrup recipe? I'd love to hear about it. Or serve with a fruit syrup drizzle, even plain powdered sugar is also delicious.

    Building Breakfast Charcuterie Board

When all your ingredients are ready begin by placing Pancakes on large Cutting Board. Here is where you can be creative. Make a chain of pancakes like you see in my photos, or make 3 or 4 piles of pancakes spread out on the board. You decide

    Pancake Charcuterie Board

Next add small groups of fruit. Remember you can have multiple groups of the same fruit spread around the board. This is actually not only eye pleasing but helpful when everyone dives in. They have multiple places to reach for the same ingredient.

When Adding fruit, I like to mix up the colors. This helps to create contrast on the board and allows your eyes to see the Breakfast Charcuterie Board as a candy store wall. You will be salivating in no time.

Use smaller bowls filled with Yogurt and even small bowls of granola too. Place in alternating areas.

Add a few twists of Oranges for a final touch of color and texture before you serve your guests. Trust me, their eyes will grow in size as they try to see everything on the board.

Just think of the possibilities, you might enjoy making a Waffle Charcuterie Board, or a French Toast Board. What about a Dessert Board with Chocolate Fondue? Oh, I can't wait to create more fun boards.

What kind of Board to Use?

Naturally Charcuterie Boards are made with a Wooden Cutting Board. But don't let that stop you! Any serving dish or platter will do. Don't get hung up on the details. Create and have fun. The memories are the Best part!

Looks like you would be serving cold pancakes! Any way around that?

You can always add the pancakes to the charcuterie board last right before serving!

Looks delicious and fun. Why don’t you combine this with tapas and do a board with your favorite like the onion meatballs?
