Tis the season for spooky treats and parties, make a Halloween Charcuterie board recipe is always a hit with the family or a crowd. Even better when you can incorporate candy eyeballs, plastic spiders, mini pumpkins, and halloween cookies too.

Choose a spooky charcuterie board theme or mix it up with a more traditional halloween snack board including meats and cheeses too. Some of my favorite meats can be found at Trader Joe 's and provide lots of a different textures and flavors.
Making a Halloween Charcuterie Board is really simple. It's easy to make on any size cutting board large or small. The hard part is choosing which of your favorite candy items or savory ingredients to enjoy. The possibilities are endless.

I've included tips for you below. I hope you find them useful and give you ideas of what you can use from your kitchen to make a fantastic Halloween Board.
- Cutting Boards
- Dishes, Cups, and Bowls
- Choosing Ingredients
- Placing Ingredients on Board
- Holidays and Special Events
- Recipes to make to include on your dessert tray
Types of Cutting Boards
Any size cutting board can be used. I've even used a cookie baking sheet, or a large tray / serving platter to create a fun snack boards. You can even use a dinner plate.
When serving a large group it's fun to line the kitchen counter with a plastic table cloth and arrange the fun treats and savory meats and cheeses on the table cloth and build a fantastic focal point of the party with all the yummy food.

Think about the amount of people you wish to serve. Depending on the amount of people you wish to serve will determine what size board will work best. A board that is approximately 8x11 inches is a perfect size for 2-4 people.
For larger groups of 6-10 people a large cutting board works better or two smaller boards.
Dishes, Cups and Bowls
I like to use small dishes or bowl to contain smaller ingredients like nuts, or chocolate coated candies. Don't have any small bowls? No problem. Try using a paper muffin liner to hold candies, nuts, or even crumbled cheese.

Smaller bowls and cups add a nice touch and give depth and dimension to the snack board. Larger bowls can also hold dips, spreads, or sauces.
Ingredients
Choosing ingredients is a fun part of this recipe. I'm going to suggest some of my favorites but make sure to add in your favorites too. The best part is you get to choose what you like.
Sweet Ingredients
To me halloween doesn't start until I find Candy Corn candies or Candy Pumpkins. They add a great pop of color as well as fill empty spots around other larger ingredient items. Some of my favorite choices also include Halloween Cookies like Spider Cookies, Sally Stitches Cookies, Witch Hat Cookies and so many more.

Adding mini candy bars like Twix, Snickers, Milky Ways, or Kit Kats are always a hit and provide great options along with candied nuts, and Goulish M&M candies that are colored purple, Orange, and Green. Any and all Halloween Candy are a perfect option to add.
Meets and Cheeses
Add a variety of hard cheeses and semi-soft cheeses along with sliced meats found at your local grocery store to make a Halloween Cheese Board

Traditional meat like Salami, pepperoni, pastrami are great choices and can be made into roses or folded in quarters in lined on the snack board.
Fruits
Sliced apples, grapes, oranges, sliced pineapple are just a few fruits you can add to this themed charcuterie board. And dried fruit is also a great addition.

When adding fruit to any snack board always remember to add a sauce or dip. It's not only fun but delicious. A caramel dip is ideal with sliced apples, or a cream cheese fruit dip is fun with other fruits too.
Bread and Crackers
Don't forget crackers, Adding a variety of cracker options makes a snack board even more fun from a seasoned breadstick, to a classic butter cracker. I love the pumpkin crackers found at Trader Joe's this time of year as well. They provide great taste and texture to this recipe.
The Bat and Ghost Chips chips were found at Trader Joe's. Aren't they adorable? So fun when you include a salsa or a cheese dip.
How to make Halloween-Themed Board
Creating a festive halloween charcuterie board is the best thing for your next halloween party. Below are my tips for putting an easy halloween charcuterie board together.
First thing, start by placing a couple of bowls on the board, the bowls can be used for dips, sauces, or even small candies or pepperonis.

Next fill in the larger items, creating a rose salami is a great focal piece on any snack tray. Place 1 or 2 salami roses or fold salami, pastrami or pepperoni into quarters and place them in lines or groups on board.
Ideally making small groups of foods ads variety to the board. Line crackers around meats, creating separation from sweet treats to savory ingredients.
Then add sliced cheese. Using a small cookie cutters in pumpkin shapes can be fun to add as well, or slice in triangles or squares and fan out for easy grabbing. Place cheese near crackers and meats for easy access when looking for savory items.

Play with the sizes of the ingredients you are using along with colors. Separating ingredients with similar colors is ideal and can really make the board pop.
There is no need to make the board symmetrical, in fact do your best to keep the board purely random.
Themed Charcuterie Boards
If you have enjoyed this themed snack board for halloween you will also enjoy a Valentines Dessert Board, Easter Charcuterie Board, Trader Joe's Meat and Cheese Board, or a fun Fruit Charcuterie Board. All are great options.
Don't stop there how about a Pancake Charcuterie Board for a weekend breakfast with the family! So fun.
Pro Tips:
- Gather all the ingredients you want to use. Visually seeing everything helps when putting board together.
- Choose Cutting Board or tray. I prefer to line board with parchment paper. But it's not necessary.
- Place small bowls for sauces or dips on board
- Add larger ingredients like rose salami, crackers, or cookies. Build tray from larger items to smaller items.
- Dip apples or bananas into lemon juice to prevent browning while sitting out
- Fill in gaps with candy corn, candy eyes, mini candy bars, covered pretzels, nuts, and holiday M&M's
- Decorate with plastic spiders, skeleton hands, and more for a spooky board theme
How much will I Need?
This is always a hard question, but here is my suggestions. Making sure you have enough options for everyone to taste each item is best. Keep that in mind when building. You won't want to fill an entire board with just one item, so mix it up with just a couple cookies, add a couple of cracker varieties, along with other savory options. Filling in the gaps with sweet ingredients.
