This recipe was made using Sierra figs, a smaller green variety that adds a nice fig flavor, but you can easily use any type of fresh figs you have on hand.
Storage & Make Ahead
Store: Keep leftover Figs in a Blanket in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For best results, reheat in the oven to regain their crispy texture.
Freeze: To freeze, assemble the figs and wrap them in pastry. Freeze in a single layer on a parchment-lined sheet pan, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag or container. Bake straight from frozen, adding a few minutes to the cooking time.
Make Ahead: You can assemble these up to one day ahead. Store them in the fridge on a parchment-lined baking sheet, covered tightly with plastic wrap. When ready to bake, just brush with egg wash and pop them in the oven!
