Avocado Cooking Spray
1cupCheddar CheeseGrated (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees F degrees for about 4 minutes. Choose a medium-sized metal bowl and a smaller metal bowl that nests inside it. Alternatively, you can create a mold using multiple layers of aluminum foil shaped around an existing bowl.
Lightly spray both sides of the tortilla with avocado cooking spray, ensuring they are well-coated. Place the tortilla inside the larger metal bowl and fold the ruffled sides to conform the tortilla to the bowl shape. 4 Flour Tortillas, Avocado Cooking Spray
Place a smaller bowl on top of the tortilla to hold it in place.
Place the tortilla in the bowl mold into a preheated air fryer and cook at 350 degrees F for 3 minutes.
Carefully remove the inner bowl and air fry the tortilla for an additional 2 minutes to crisp up the inside.
Remove the outer bowl, place the tortilla bowl back in the air fryer upside down, and air fry for another 2 minutes to crisp up the outside.
Remove the tortilla bowl from the air fryer and allow it to cool and harden.
Cheese Tortilla Bowls
To make a cheese tortilla bowl, add ¼ cup of grated cheddar cheese to the inside of the tortilla bowl after the bowl has been cooked, and air fry for 1 minute to melt the cheese. You could also use the residual heat of the air fryer to melt the cheese, but it will take a bit longer. 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
Alternate Method
Another way to make tortilla bowls, instead of using a smaller bowl to make a mold, is to press a ramakin down into the center of the tortilla in the larger bowl so that it indents the tortilla to hold it in place.
Then, remove the ramakin and place the tortilla in the metal bowl inside the air fryer. Air fry for 5 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Remove the bowl, flip the tortilla upside down, and air fry for another 2 minutes to crisp up the outside. Then remove the tortilla bowl from the air fryer and allow it to cool and harden.
