Delicious Cream Cheese Danish make a great breakfast, brunch, or snack food! With a sweet, rich filling and a nice pastry crust, it’s not hard to see why they’re so popular. Making them at home makes them even better because you don’t have to make a trip out to the bakery.
Allow frozen puff pastry to thaw on counter while you mix up the Cream Cheese Filling
In a bowl combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract and heavy cream.
Using a hand mixer, combine ingredients. Set aside
Unfold puff pastry and cut into 4 squares and cut each square into 4 rectangles Using a knife, score the edges of each rectangle about ¼in in. This helps allow the puff pastry to "puff" around the cream cheese filling.
Place 1 large teaspoon of cream cheese mixture to middle of danish
In a small bowl combine egg with water and whisk
Brush egg mixture on puff pastry and sprinkle with coarse sugar
Bake at 400 degrees for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown
Pumpkin Mixture (Optional)
In a bowl combine Pumpkin, Sugar, Vanilla, and Cinnamon
Add 1 teaspoon on top of cream cheese mixture before baking
How to Make the Glaze
In a small bowl cut butter into Powdered Sugar using a fork or pastry cutter
Add vanilla.
Add Milk a little at a time and mix. Add additional milk to reach the desired consistency to drizzle on warm Cream Cheese Danish

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Danish: Follow the above recipe and add 1 teaspoon Pumpkin mixture on top of cream cheese mixture before baking.
