I love Pork! I love the lighter meat on a roast and I adore the darker meat on a roast or a loin. It's juicy and flavorful. Shredded Pork can be used for so many recipes. It's simple to throw in the crock-pot to have ready for you when you arrive home after a long day. I love my crock-pot that allows me to set a timer and when it's done, it automatically goes to a "warm" mode. I couldn't live without this crock-pot.
Place roast in Crock-Pot for 6-8 hours with garlic and broth. The broth helps to keep the roast extra moist while cooking and it's so much easier to shred when it's not dried out. The garlic adds an even flavor through out.
Recipes That Taste Good With This
Shredded Pork - BASE
Ingredients
- 1 Pork Roast
- 2-3 Cloves garlic - Pressed
- 1 Can Beef Broth
Instructions
- In a crock-pot place roast, broth and garlic. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 2-4 hours. Time varies depending on size of roast.
- Allow roast to cook for hours, this allows the meat to fall apart and shred easily. When it's done you should be able to take a fork and press on the roast and it will break down into shreds easily.
- Shredded Pork as a Base Ingredient can be used in many recipes, or packaged and saved for later use.

Have not tried this yet, but want to. Should I use a regular large pork roast or a pork tenderloin?

I love pork, too! And, although I cook and shred chicken to use as a base for other recipes, I never thought about doing the same with pork. I look forward to more recipes using this base. Thank you!
